Kelly & Shepherd Innovations
Innovation and best-practice continues to drive our operations, with the aim of increasing quality and efficiency, reducing costs and maximising jobsite safety.
Some of our recent innovations include:
- World's first use of GPS-based machine control to automate scraper operation, rather than using an indicate-only system. This development, implemented by Topcon Australia's NSW dealer Laserquip, was specifically developed at Kelly & Shepherd's request. read more >>
- Development of an "Optimum Moisture Plough" to ensure moisture content between lifts to be compacted is consistent throughout material, rather than just sitting on top - as occurs with conventional water-cart operation. read more >>
- Development of a prototype GPS-based machine positioning system, giving Kelly & Shepherd, clients and consultants a real time view of where all equipment is, where it has been, and when. This information can be viewed remotely and will become a key tool for us in cost control and quality assurance. read more >>
- Recent purchase of Topcon's mmGPS machine control technology and rover - allowing it to carry out final trim grading and dozing, as well as site survey and setup to tolerances of within 5 mm. read more >>
